Grade 3/4 News

Loving learning every day with Miss Stephan, Mrs Jacobs and Miss Mawby!

Special help from Mr Reid, Mr Hayward, Mrs Harrison and Miss Judy.

This week in the middle unit we are continuing our literacy unit on GoGo and The Silver Shoes. We have been looking at different kinds of verbs and exploring how to make simple sentences more interesting. Our vocabulary words are suggested, announcement, shimmering, and absolute. In fluid group maths we are working on place value, while in classroom maths we are focussing on symmetry, where we had a fun session finding lines of symmetry in the playground at Beaufort PS.

This term in Integrated Studies our topic of learning is ‘Into the Unknown’, where we are delving into changes over time. We had some fun and interesting discussions about how things like clothing, phones, modes of transport, and schooling have changed over time, and comparing photos of the past and present. It was hard to believe how much things had changed over such a short time!

We all had a fantastic time at the swimming carnival, it was the perfect day to spend beside the pool. Miss Stephan, Miss Mawby, and Mrs Jacobs are all extremely proud of how everyone participated and showed our school values, whether it was swimming in events, or cheering on their house teams. Thank you all the parents who came along and helped to make the day such a success, and congratulations Red House on a well-earned victory.
