Co-Curricular Update

Primary Swimming

Unlike the Secondary Carnival, the Primary carnival was not graced with perfect weather. However, is was inspiring to see the students tough it out in the 38 degree conditions. It was also great to see parents back at the pool supporting the day.

Our students participated with such enthusiasm and passion. A special mention to our Year 10 PASS students who were excellent throughout the day assisting staff with place judging and running marshalling sheets up and down the pool.

It was also a day for breaking records. Lachlan Nagle smashing 3 records including 50m Freestyle, Backstroke and Butterfly and Jack Hawkins setting a record in the 50m Breaststroke.

Secondary Swimming

We were blessed with the perfect day to hold the Secondary Swimming Carnival this year. With the year 12s celebrating their last carnival they did not disappoint with some hilarious dress ups and a great entrance to get proceedings started.

Congratulations to every students who attending the carnival and competed in a race for their house. It was great to see how many swimmers we had participating this year.

The day was always leading up to what some have ear marked as “The race of the day’ where the best swimmers from each age group battle it out against the staff. Now it may come as no surprise to anyone that the staff were able to take out this race comfortably. The team of Mr Townrow, Mr Scoble, Mr Hall and Mr McMahon eased their way to victory, followed in 2nd by daylight and in 3rd we had the Year 12 team.

One of my favourite parts of the day is celebrating the achievement of our swimmers by handing out our Age champion awards. This years winners are listed below:

13 Girls: Maya Wise

13 Boys: Macklan Dalziel

14 Girls: Ava Whitbourne

14 Boys: James Mason

15 Girls: Jordan Dalziel

15 Boys: Jake Barden & Cooper Hunter

16 Girls: Ayla Wise & Emma Mitchell

16 Boys: Lucas Holgate

Open Girls: Kaitlin Weiser

Open Boys: Jake Clancy

Finally, once again we had Chanter taking house the House Swimming shield for the second year in a row. Lead by house captains Brodie Jardine and Isabelle Barber the blue team was dominate both in the pool but also out with the constant support and cheering coming from the sidelines.

Thanks to all the students for supporting both the primary and secondary swimming days and thank you to all the staff who helped in the running of the carnivals.
