Information for Families

Camps, Sports & Excursion Fund (CSEF)

Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps ensure that no student will miss out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities. It is part of making Victoria the Education State and the Government’s commitment to breaking the link between a student’s background and their outcomes

CAMPS, SPORTS & EXCURSIONS FUND (CSEF) School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors, excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works and sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are part of a healthy curriculum. CSEF will be provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities. If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child. The annual CSEF amount per student is: • $125 for primary school students • $225 for secondary school students

HOW TO APPLY – Please complete the form that was attached to last weeks newsletter or collect a form from the office and then return the completed form to school.

School Bus Information

Whilst many families have logged in to the School Bus Management System and renewed and accepted their 2023 travel applications, a number of families have not done so.

To renew your 2023 travel, please go to https://schoolbus.educationapps.vic.gov.au/ and complete your renewal prior to 5th February 2023.  Once you have submitted your renewed application, the School Bus Management System will assess your application and send you a travel offer.  Please log back into the School Bus Management System and manage your offers. This will ensure your child/ren are approved to travel and continue to have access to a bus.

Travellers that have not renewed their 2023 applications beyond this date, are not approved for travel and will eventually be removed from the bus in accordance with the Department of Education and Training's School Bus Program Policy.  Please refer to policy extract below:

  • any student that presents at a bus stop for a morning bus service and is unauthorised for travel must be accepted on the bus and reported to the coordinating principal once the bus arrives at school
  • bus operators are not obligated to carry unauthorised student passengers in the afternoon. Unauthorised student passengers should be reported to the schools on duty supervisor/teacher for removal from the bus service prior to the bus departing the school interchange.

It is vitally important that your child/ren's details are on the School Bus Management System, particularly in the event of an emergency situation.  If your child/ren is not registered to traveller on the School Bus Management System, then the school will not know who to contact in the event of an emergency.

To apply for the School Bus Program, please go to https://schoolbus.educationapps.vic.gov.au/

To ensure that the school bus list is correct for the start of the year, all bus travellers (even if you have already told the office) must return the form below to the office by MONDAY 13TH FEBRUARY 2023, noting which days students will be travelling on the bus in the afternoon.

If your child is not to catch the bus on a designated day, parents/carers MUST provide a written note.  If circumstances alter during the day you may ring the office or collect students from the bus area.

As children enter the bus area their names will be marked off by staff.  They will then board the bus or be otherwise dismissed.

Unless we receive parental notification or children are collected from the bus area they will join the bus.

Please contact Leesa or Maree in the office of what days your child/ren will be travelling on the bus in the afternoon.
