English to years 7,9,10 & 12 and History 9 & 10

Why English/History?

I studied Literature/History at uni and have always loved reading.

Favourite Book

1000 splendid suns by Khaled Hosseini.

Book Recommendation?

 Life & Times of Michael K  by South African-born writer J. M. Coetzee.

Where do you come from?

I grew up in Katunga, a small farming town near Cobram.  I now live in Porepunkah. 

Best thing of living in Porepunkah?

It's a nice sleepy town close to everything.

Do you ski?  

I haven’t been since I was 16!

How long have been here at MBSC? 

I did my first teacher placement here last year. 

Where did you go to Uni? 

Deakin Uni (Burwood) – I just graduated on Monday with a B Arts (Masters in Teaching) 

 

Favourite thing here? 

All the students have been so great - lots of different personalities and all really kind.

Have you had a chance to explore Mount Beauty? 

A little bit – I've been to the Gorge, and I love going to Grass Valley for coffee in the morning!

Always wanted to be a teacher?  

Yes. 

Travelled overseas? 

Yes! To Singapore, The Phillipines, Indonesia, Thailand, USA, Chile, Peru, NZ...

Did you go anywhere exciting in the summer holidays?

Peru. 

Why? 

For an adventure.

Best thing?  

Meeting new friends (fellow travellers) as I was travelling solo.

Favourite place?

The city of Cusco.  It was clean, nice, with beautiful historical colonial buildings.

Best food?

 The national food is potatoes – over 4000 different types of potatoes!

What are you most looking forward to this year?  

Learning new things and helping others learn.
