Principal's Report

Carly Avery

Dear Parents and Friends,

I would firstly like to thank our Year 4/5/6 students for a wonderful visit to Canberra last week, a busy camp, with a lot to see and take in. It was a privilege to spend this time with our students, hearing their ideas and questions, learning new things, and visiting interesting locations. We had several members of the public approach different teachers whilst we were away, expressing what well mannered young people we had with us! I would like to also thank Mark Butters, Trish Shaw and Daniel Matthews for giving up time with family to attend camp also.

Please see the Parent Engagement section for information on our upcoming Learning Walk, Monday 23rd May.

Student Illness

As you may be aware we currently have a small number of covid cases, some gastro and a range of students with various flu symptoms. This flu appears to be hitting students hard and lingering. We appreciate all parents who are keeping unwell students at home.

In future, this form will be shared week one, term one annually.

Primary School Nursing Program

The Victorian Primary School Nursing is a free health assessment offered by the Department of Education and Training to all children during their first year of primary school.

The Primary School Nurse will visit the school to assess all foundation children that have returned the School Entrant Health Questionnaire (SEHQ) which has been handed out today. Information provided in the SEHQ will enable the School Nurse to identify and respond to parents/carers concerned about their child's health and wellbeing, and to provide an assessment and referral where indicated.

If you wish your child to participate in the Primary School Nursing Program, please indicate this by ticking the YES consent box and signing page 5.

If you do not wish your child to participate, please tick the NO consent box and sign on page 5.

Please return the questionnaire to your child's school by Friday 20th May 2022.
