Maths News
The Year 6 Maths Olympiad had some fun doing an activity this week.
They were asked to use MAB materials to make a word worth 1000. MAB blocks consist of ones, tens and hundreds. Their initial response was ‘easy’ however this proved to be more complicated than they expected.
One group chose a 10 letter word allocating 100 for each letter and adjusting accordingly. They later tried to construct a sentence and add it up.
It was great to see them applying reasoning and strategy to a simple but worthwhile task.
