Notizie Italiane

Buongiorno a tutti!

On  Wednesday, June 1st, we will celebrate Italian Day!  This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the language we are all learning here at OLHC as well as the passion and vibrancy of the Italian culture.

We encourage everyone to get into the spirit and dress up with Italian flair! Lots of exciting activities are planned, including a Dress up Parade to begin the day. Parents are welcome to stay and watch the parade.

Students and teachers are invited to wear anything to do with Italy - colours (green, white and red), characters, people, food, places, landmarks - everything Italian; be creative!

Denise will offer a special pizza/pasta lunch order option on the day and will provide a free gelati for all students!

(Pizza and pasta will be the only lunch order options available on Italian Day, Wed 1st June, along with snacks.  Parents will need to use the online ordering system to place their pizza or pasta order.)

In Italian classes, students are given pegs when they participate and have a go in class, and when they spontaneously use Italian. Congratulations to the mid semester points champions for Term 1 Italian classes. These are the students who earned the highest number of pegs in their class last term:

Prep   Julian

1/2L  Rory

1/2RB  Jeremy

3/4A  Matilda

3/4S   Harry

5/6A   Sarah

5/6K  Joseph

Complimenti a tutti!

You can always say hello in Italian to each other and your teacher, as well as please and thank you.

Try them out at home too: Ciao! Per favore! Grazie! Prego!

Don’t forget to use the word of the week as much as you can this week!

Grazie mille e ciao!
