Wellbeing NEWS at OLHC

Yesterday the Wellbeing leaders met with Diana (Alex's mum 3/4A). Diana came to our team meeting to share her knowledge with us and to help us learn more about what we can do to support the Prader Willi Research Association. We will commence our fundraising this year supporting the Prader Willi Research Association to help continue their research into this syndrome. Diana will share more information at our assembly on Monday May 16th.

On Friday May 27th we ask that all children bring a $2 gold coin and wear something orange on this day, which is the colour this organisation promotes as their special colour.

Have you got a scarf, a hat or a t-shirt coloured orange?

Last week we had a visit from Jayne from

BIG Group Hug. The Wellbeing Leaders listened and asked many inquiring questions with the view of supporting this organisation in the coming weeks and months. Coats4Kids is their Winter plea to keep all children warm!

If you have any coats that you or your children have outgrown please drop them off at the office and we will let Jayne know of these donations.

How did the BIG Group Hug start?

The BIG Group Hug started when a volunteer named Angela, found a car seat on the side of the road. It was in perfect condition and so she called a family nurse organisation and asked if they knew a family who needed a car seat. They said yes and said they would take it. Angela also asked if they needed anything else, and they said a lot of things. It's amazing to think that it used to be an organisation run out of Angela's living room, now to a huge warehouse in Bundoora! By Emily
