The UCAT ANZ was established to help universities achieve greater fairness in selection. Around 14,000 candidates sit the test each year as part of their application to courses in medicine, dentistry and clinical sciences.

The University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) is a computer-based admissions test, used by the UCAT ANZ Consortium of universities in Australia and New Zealand to help select applicants for their medical, dental and clinical science degree programmes.

The UCAT ANZ replaced the UMAT (Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test) in 2019.

UCAT 2022 Registration: What Testing Session Should I Choose?

Registrations to sit UCAT 2022 are now open! If you are planning to sit UCAT in 2022 for entry into medicine in 2023, we suggest booking your UCAT testing date as soon as possible. Popular dates and locations to sit UCAT do book out!

Here are three tips for choosing your perfect UCAT 2022 testing session.

MedEntry UCAT Preparation

The UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) is required for entry into most medicine and dentistry courses across Australia. Students who wish to enter such courses will need to sit UCAT.

Year 11 students who are interested in medicine or dentistry have one year before their test in July-August 2022. The best way to prepare for UCAT is through distributed practice over several months.

For Year 12 students who have scored well in UCAT, MedEntry conducts interview training.

UCAT GRANT

Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) is a not-for-profit government funded organisation improving health care for rural and regional Victorian health professionals. They provide a range of activities and support to improve the recruitment and retention of health professionals to rural and regional Victoria. More information can be found here.

UCAT EXAM PREPARATION GRANT

Studies show that individuals who have experience living in rural and regional locations often remain or return to these areas to pursue their professional careers. To address the health professional shortage in rural and regional Victoria, RWAV is encouraging year 11 or 12 students living in rural and regional priority areas (see Priority Areas Matrix for eligible locations), interested in studying medicine, the opportunity to participate in preparation classes for the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT).

In partnership with MedEntry, RWAV is offering grants that cover the two-day UCAT preparation workshops. These will run as interactive, live stream online events in 2022.
