Chaplain's Chat

This week I received information from Life Camps Australia.

Their approach is to gather, connect and journey - their camps bring people together from many locations to enjoy the collective support and encouragement of others within God’s family; camps are centred around connecting with God and with each other, prioritising worship, Biblical teaching, fun and creative activities that cultivate deep connection with each other; and create experiences for the whole family to enjoy across their lifetime - from kids and teen camps to a range of events for adults and families - as well as exciting mission and cultural trips.

Registrations are now open for the Marriage Enrichment Weekend (10-13 June) and Winter Youth camps for school aged children (Years 10-12: 10-13 June. Years 7-9, 27-30 June). Camps for Primary aged students generally run in the April school holidays.

I strongly endorse Life Camps Australia as a result of my personal involvement in their camping program. My own children have benefited from the different camps spanning many years as both campers and leaders. A number of families connected with Moama Anglican Grammar have also made these camps a priority for their children.

Our most recent interaction with Life Camps Australia was in 2019 when my wife, Wendy, and I attended their Marriage Enrichment weekend. This was a great time of refreshment, while also giving practical teaching for strengthening our marriage. Unfortunately COVID restrictions in 2020 and 2021 prevented Jonathan and Andrew attending the ‘Schoolies Alternative Camps’. This was a highlight and positive experience for both Samuel and Benjamin in 2016 and 2017. One of the added benefits that our family have experienced through a connection with Life Camps Australia has been the ongoing Christian network that has supported our children after leaving home and moving away for university.
