URStrong

Creating a kinder world by empowering kids with friendship skills.

URStrong teaches children what’s normal in a friendship and the difference between healthy and unhealthy friendships. In short, we teach our students how to become Friendship Ninjas.

Friendship Ninjas know how to put out common Friendship Fires and how to use Quick Comebacks when someone is Mean-on-Purpose. Friendship Ninjas can get their friendships back into the green zone on the Friend-o-Meter by working their way through the Friend-o-Cycle. They know how to Talk-it-Out, but they also understand that friendships change…and that’s okay.

At Great Ryrie, we are very proud of the beautiful, new Friendology Corner we have created. It is a space for children to come, sit down and Talk-it-Out when they have had a Friendship Fire. A lot of work has gone into creating the Friendology Corner. We had bench seats built, grass laid and shade sails are about to be installed. Special thanks to Miss Lenon and Mrs Bosomworth who worked together, in their personal time, to paint the impressive display. We hope our Friendship Ninjas love using this area as much as we have loved seeing it all come together!

We are currently training Year 5 students to be our first ever Friend-o-Leaders. These children will be in the yard to help children who are experiencing a friendship issue or just need help finding a friend.

We are very proud of our URStrong program as we believe that Friendology inspires children to feel empowered, develop a strong sense of self, and love themselves while learning to manage the most important thing to them…their friendships.
