Tutoring with Zoe

Over term one, Year 12 English extension students were fortunate to access weekly small-group tutoring from alumna, Zoe Beazley. Zoe was the College Dux and Dux in English last year, achieving a study score of 49/50. She is now majoring in English at the University of Melbourne. We are really pleased to have Zoe return to us, supporting our students to achieve their personal best in English this year.

Year 10 Advanced Applied Learning

Currently in VET Employment Pathways, Year 10 students are learning the skills and knowledge to undertake basic career planning.  The unit specifically focuses on identifying pathways to employment or further education and training.

On Wednesday 11th May, Year 10 students went on an excursion to AGA (Apprenticeship Group Australia) where they had an opportunity to engage in an organised tour of the facility. This included the workshop that houses a number of training courses such as building and construction, electrotechnology, plumbing and automotive.

The students met with industry experienced trainers and asked them lots of questions about the courses. Students were able to see samples of student work, as well as tools and equipment used in these industries. This was a great opportunity for our Year 10 students to hear about the different pathways available to them and they all really enjoyed the experience.

Year 12 Literature Excursion

On Thursday 12th May, Year 12 Literature students enjoyed an excursion to Hanging Rock. Students have been studying the novel 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' as part of their unit on Adaptations and Transformations. Students were encouraged to dress in the costume of their chosen character as a means of adaptation and character analysis. The views were amazing and everyone had a fantastic day! Thanks to Ms Wilson and Mr Polizzi for accompanying the students.
