Boarding

Sesquicentenary celebrations.

It was a week of celebrations in the Boarding House, with both the sesquicentenary celebrations in full flight and our National Boarding Week. Visitors travelled from near and far to see their old rooms and current boarders were treated to a few old stories from Old Collegians and also reminded of how lucky they are today. “No air conditioners in our day! Only oil bar heaters and cold wooden floors”.

It was a pleasure for our boarders to show Old Collegians about the grounds and I thank Sarah Andersen (Year 11) in particular for her time and care in showcasing our College.

Whilst we welcomed Old Collegians to visit and reconnect with the Boarding House, we also conducted a formal dinner as part of our National Boarding Week celebrations. Lucie and Toby Hawthorne were kind enough to take the time to visit College all the way from Keith. The presented a wonderful reflection to our boarders, particularly highlighting the care and attention past and present staff provided. Lucie and Toby’s presentation has been recorded on the Boarders’ Podcast series, which you can access here:
