Library

Thank you to all the children who took the time to fill out the library survey! It was wonderful to read some of the children's feedback and suggestions and also how much children love spending time in the library!

The survey showed that 63% of the children love reading adventure and funny fiction books and the top non-fiction selections were books on animals, cooking and history. The majority of the children nominated their favourite thing about the library as the huge variety and diversity of the books on offer. When asked what they least liked the majority indicated that it was sometimes hard to find the books that they were interested in.

Now that we know what our children want we can try to bring in more of the books that they are interested in and make changes to the library based on their suggestions. We want to make our library a place where children love to visit, learn and read!

Just a reminder that all of our students have access to our library application, Oliver. Oliver is a web-based learning, teaching, information and library management tool that can be accessed through the Holy Saviour Student Portal. It delivers around the clock, anywhere, anytime access to our school library resources. Take the time to ask your child to open it and you can browse the amazing range of books our library has to offer.

Working With Children Checks

Now that restrictions have lifted and families are able to be back on site, we encourage parents/carers to register or renew their Working With Children Checks (WWCC). It is a very simple process to apply for a card and even simpler to renew an existing one. Among other things, a valid WWCC enables parents / carers to help out in classrooms, library and accompany excursions. If you already have a valid card, please let the office know. Book Club

The issue 4 Scholastic Book Club catalogue was sent home this week. Please submit all orders by Friday 3rd June, 4pm. To view the catalogue online and place your order please click here.

Holy Saviour Playgroup Returning - Term 3

Holy Saviour Playgroup will be returning in Term 3 on Tuesday mornings 9am - 11am. All babies and preschoolers are welcome. So come along and meet some parents for a cuppa while the children have a play. Please pass on this flyer to any families who might be interested.

Cadbury Fundraiser - Reminder

Thank you to everyone who was able to take and sell Cadbury Chocolate boxes. Just a reminder to those families who may still have money / unsold chocolates, please return these to the school at your earliest convenience. As always, thank you for your support!

Holy Saviour Festival Toy Stall

Although it seems early, Gr3/4EW would like to let you know that we are having a second hand TOY STALL at the Festival in November. We're hoping that if you're doing any clearing out over the holidays, you might save old toys for our stall. From a curriculum perspective we will learn about pricing, counting and handling money and categorising items. We ask that everything be clean and in working order. Your child/ren can drop items at our classroom any time from now.

Second Hand Uniforms

Second hand uniforms are currently set up in the office. If anyone is interested in purchasing a second hand uniform, please either come in and speak with either Tarnia or Kerry or email the office with your request and sizing requirements and we will check to see if the item is available. If it is, we will notify you. All we charge for second hand uniforms is a gold coin donation. Please note however that not all sizes and items will be in stock.

Sports Uniform

The new House tops are now available to purchase from PSW. Like any uniform change, there will be a “phasing in period” for the new sport polos, with the expectation that by the beginning of 2024, all children will be wearing the new polos. The current Sky-Blue polo and Senior School Sports Top are no longer available for purchase from PSW. All other uniform items remain the same.

Skoolbag App

Skoolbag have made a few changes in their latest update. If you have problems logging in via your device, then please download the latest update via the App Store. Please refer to the below instructions on how to install Skoolbag if you have not already done so. If you have any questions or problems then please contact the office.

Waverley Cinema Movie Star Birthday Parties

Waverley Cinemas, located at the Pinewood Shopping Centre in Mount Waverley, has teamed up with Holy Saviour to offer Movie Star Birthday Parties (post-lockdown of course)!

This is one of the easiest ways to celebrate your child's special day. There are no deposits, no minimum numbers, no work. Just book your party and they will do the rest. Multi Purpose Hall Bookings

Please note that the Multi Purpose Hall is now available for hire on weekends or after 6pm during the school week. All bookings are to be made through the school office. A copy of the hire agreement can be found here, please feel free to share this information with those looking for spaces to hire.
