Convince Me!
Over the first few weeks of Term 2, the Year 5 and 6 Community have been learning about the language features and structural features of persuasive texts. A persuasive text is a text which argues a point of view to convince the reader or viewer or listener to agree with the author.
The author of a persuasive text:
- Argues for or against a point of view
- Influences or makes the reader believe something
- Encourages the reader/viewer to take action
The students wrote about a range of topics such as everyone should do team sports, school uniforms should not exist and it is better to work alone, not in groups. Students from Ms Poropat’s class graciously agreed to share their persuasive writing with us. Check them out below:
To read their pieces, you can also view them in this Google folder.
NAPLAN 2022
Thank you to all the families of the children in Years 3 and 5 for your support with NAPLAN over the past two weeks. Congratulations to the students with how they approached the tests and the maturity they showed over the testing period.
