ENROLMENTS 2022

We remind all current families to please ensure they submit a sibling enrolment form for 2022

We encourage our families, the greatest advocates, to remind friends and families about enrolments for 2022 now open.

2022 enrolments need to be submitted by 25th June, 2021.

NAPLAN

Students in Years 3 & 5 will participate in The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests on 11th – 13th May. As the tests are conducted in a strict time format, it is essential that students are at school on time on these days. We know that students have a range of skills and talents and unfortunately the tests do not assess all of these. Whatever the results are of the tests, remember we know our students and what makes them exceptional. The results indicate how well students performed on one day in literacy and numeracy tests only. If you have concerns about your child and the NAPLAN tests, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.

Aussie of the Month

At Launching Place Primary School, we love to recognise the students in our school who demonstrate our school’s core values – curiosity, achievement, responsibility, empathy and respect. Each month we present an Aussie of the Month award to one junior school (Prep – 2) student and one senior school (Grades 3-6) student.

The staff are asked to nominate students from the junior school and senior school who regularly demonstrate our school values and those that set an excellent example for their peers to follow. Nominees are voted on by all staff and the winners are presented with their certificates at assembly. Keep an eye on our newsletters for our monthly winners! Congratulations to Cara S and Charlotte K for receiving the Aussie of the month rewards well done to you both.

Life Education Incursion.

Life Education Victoria

Life Education Victoria is a community-based, independent organisation at the front line of positive and preventative drug and health education. Approximately 200,000 Victorian children and 18,000 families take part in our preschool, primary and secondary programs each year.

Driven by the popular Life Education mascot Healthy Harold we're helping young people to make informed decisions about drugs and their health.

An essential component of every Australian child’s education.

Specialist educators, utilising their experience and training, work with schools to develop programs to support the provision of best-practice drug education.  Sessions are age specific and sequential with written and electronic resources provided to support both students and teachers in the delivery of ongoing drug education in their classroom.  A visit to the mobile Life Education van facilitates the development of students' knowledge and skills to identify risks and make informed decisions.

LPPS students really enjoyed their time.

Our results were: 16 to 0 against Mooroolbark East in the first game that we played. We got 30 to 0 in our second game against Yarra Junction. In the last game it was 4 to 14 against Rolling Hills.
