Reading and Writing

 

It has been wonderful to see the team 3/4 students return to school refreshed and eager to begin a new term of exciting learning after the Easter break.

 

This term, the students have begun focusing on reading persuasive texts and learning to identify the author’s opinion, argument and supporting details in a persuasive text.

There have been some passionate debates about topics such as ‘Dogs make better pets than cats’ and whether ‘Students should be required to wear school uniforms’.

 

Students are learning about the language of persuasion in order to write their own persuasive texts with strong persuasive language and arguments to support their opinions.
