What's news at OSHClub?
Welcome Back
It's great to see everyone back! We're bright eyed and bushy tailed (most of the time) and excited about our new activities and clubs.
Club News
We are running several clubs this term, including Cooking, Science, Breadmaking and Gardening Clubs. We kicked off our Gardening Club with "Weed Salad". Mary introduced the children to edible weeds, with the caution of not doing this at home or without their parents. For some odd reason, there were no takers (this was somewhat anticipated). However, we did attempt to make the salad more appealing by adding tomatoes and carrots. Mary thought the salad was delicious, especially when it was later mixed with the left-over cheesy rice and peas" (Conor declined to comment) .. still no takers.
However, the bread was a hit with everyone - including parents!
The children thoroughly enjoyed our blue blueberry pancakes and yummy purple nachos.
Our fruit platters are always a hit - and the broccoli went down well (granted, the white sauce helped, however this was not anticipated).
Vacation Care
We had a great Easter Vacation Care. Our themes included "Cooking up a Storm"', "Movement and Dance" and "Under the Sea".
We also had a variety of incursions and excursions ranging from footy clinics and reptile visits to laser tag, bowling and rock climbing; always favourites for the children. They loved getting active with footy and rock climbing and learning a little about not-so-little reptiles.
Meet the Team
The permanent on-site OSHClub team consists of Mary (Educational Leader/Coordinator) and Conor (Educator). We love taking care of the children and leading them in a variety of activities.
Bookings
Bookings need to be made outside of 48hrs before a session. For example, bookings for Before School Care on a Thursday will need to be made at the latest by 7am Tuesday before. After this time, you can no longer secure a booking through your iParent portal. Contact us to make a booking.
