WELCOME BACK!

I hope you all had a wonderful break and are recharged, ready for a productive and rewarding term. 

 

We hit the ground running last week as we had several events including the Cross-Country at Apex Park, the House Fun Walk/Run and our ANZAC service. Allungah came away with the win. 

 

Well done to Mr. Don Mayne, the College Captains, and ambassadors leading the ANZAC Day service on Thursday.

 

The College Council met last week for the AGM and I am pleased to announce Debra Orsini has been elected President, and Phil Gourlay as Vice-president. 

 

Staff Changes

We say farewell to two staff members:

  • Mr. Ian Creece  
  • Ms. Claire Thorpe

We thank Mr. Creece for his 20+ years dedication and service to our students and community here at Red Cliffs Secondary College.  We wish both Ian and Claire all the very best in their future endeavours.  Mr. Rod Jones and Mr. John Taylor will be taking their classes while the recruitment process takes place.

 

We welcome some new staff for Term 2:

  • Mrs. Leanne Gray begins work this week with the Tutor Learning Initiative
  • Ms. Marita Barnes has been appointed as our Mental Health Practitioner

Welcome to both Leanne and Marita and hope they enjoy their time with us. 

 

This Friday,  is Hoodie Up for Autism. Staff and students are encouraged to wear a hoodie this Friday, to raise awareness and understanding of Autism. Donations to Amaze will also be collected and can be taken to Student Reception. 

 

Wednesday the 5th of May will be our College Open Day, 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for new students and families to tour our campus too see what we have to offer when considering enrolment for 2022.
