Grade 5/6 - Stained Glass Windows

The talented students in 5|6 created these vibrant, eye-catching stained glass windows using PVA glue and soft pastels.

The first step was to sketch a design on black paper using grey lead and then draw over it using PVA squeezed from a bottle.

This was set aside to dry. The PVA lines dried dear and made the lines appear black from the paper underneath.

Last of all the children added colour using soft pastels which allowed them to blend colours and achieve either bold, vibrant colours or light, pale colours.

What talented artists we have at St Mary’s!
