Back to School for 2023

Judging from how fast the 2022 school year passed, the new one will be here before we know it.

Volunteers 2023

As we continue to further Literacy Learning at Mount Carmel College, we are looking to introduce more ways that we can support our students' learning.

In 2023, we are looking for family or friends in our College Community that would like to volunteer some of their time to work with our Early Years Students (Prep-Year 2) on their reading. Volunteers will read with a variety of students and work with small groups, following teacher directions.

Volunteers will be required for reading in our morning blocks (anytime between 9am-10:40am). We are flexible and more than happy to work with days that best suit you on a schedule that best suits you (i.e. weekly, fortnightly, monthly or occasionally).

If this is something that you would be interested in, or if you know of someone that would be interested in this, please contact our Literacy Practice Leader, Nicola Smith, at nicola.smith@mountcarmel.tas.edu.au or by calling the College Office on 6216 7900.

Please note, all volunteers require a Working with Vulnerable People Check. For further information visit: https://www.cbos.tas.gov.au/topics/licensing-and-registration/work-with-vulnerable-people
