General Information
Graduation of Year 6's
The final week of school was exciting for all, but particularly for the graduating Year Six students who will be heading off to Secondary School in 2023. From Reception students in 2016 or IELC entries along the way to graduates in 2022. We can’t quite believe how quickly their primary years have passed.
At the Graduation ceremony last Thursday evening, we celebrated the delightful and caring cohort of Year 6 students as they prepare to move onto high school. Kindly hosted by two of our year five students, Sneha and Naavya, we commemorated the memories shared and the great times we’ve enjoyed at Clovelly Park Primary. Students were awarded with Graduation certificates and a parting gift. We celebrated successes with Academic and Special awards. We thank the Year Six cohort for the way that they graduated with such grace and for the years of joy they have brought to our school. Thank you to the Edwardstown Lions Club and Nadia Clancy for volunteering their time to present awards and the donations they contributed and bestowed upon our students.
Attending the Graduation Ceremony on Thursday at school in the Gymnasium were staff, family members and friends. It was gratifying to see so many in attendance. Following the ceremony our students thoroughly enjoyed celebrating as a collective at the Tonsley Hotel where we shared company and a lovely meal.
We would like to wish a huge congratulations to our Graduating Class of 2022.
We look forward to hearing of their future successes and will remember them fondly.
Woodhouse Excursion - Y2 & Y7
On Friday of week 7, the year 5/6 students from Mr Collier’s, Mr McMillan’s and Ms Nadine’s classes all ventured to Piccadilly for the day to experience an outdoor adventure at Woodhouse Activity Centre. We all arrived at school eager to experience Challenge Hill and the many other activities in store. On arrival we split into teams and half of us attempted orienteering whilst the others got stuck into Challenge Hill.
‘Orienteering was very fun but it was hard at the same time because you had to go everywhere. We got lost for like .. 10 minutes!’ – Naavya.
‘Challenge Hill was really fun and very interesting! It was really fun to try all the activities there and I had a great time.’ - Sneha.
We then reconvened for a quick break which was great because the morning had been hard work and we were all really hungry. We swapped around and those that had orienteered did Challenge Hill and vice versa. It was so tough having to do challenge hill after orienteering because we were tired. After lunch, we joined together to visit Cameron’s Climb. Here we did some free climbing and bouldering.
‘Cameron’s Climb was challenging and so hot at the top!’ – Camila.
We ended the day with the Labyrinth. It was so much fun. We played a giant game of chasey throughout the maze and almost everyone got involved.
‘That was really fun!’ – Lucy.
'We were pooped on the way home. It was a hard day but so much fun!' - by Sneha and Naavya.
Fundraising Christmas Stall
Our students happily selected presents for friends and family from our Christmas Stall.
Thanks to Ms Mandy and Ms Tanja from our Governing Council and all those that helped on the day. We also thank everyone who donated items to sell.
Skateboarding lessons
Many of our students were given the opportunity to skateboard in week 7. YMCA instructors demonstrated and taught techniques to the very excited students. Thank you for Ms Monique, Ms Mandy and Mr Aaron C for organising the event.
