Possible School Name Change For HEPS

… and the result are in…. 

With the lead up to our 50th Birthday, we’ve been seeking input from families and students about the possibility of changing our school name.  This initiative started based on feedback received from the wider community and current families that the name of the school influenced their decision to attend our school or not.

Members of our school community including families and staff were invited to participate in a survey over 5 weeks. The results are in and saw 94 people responding with a convincing vote of 86.2% in favour of changing the school’s name. (81 responses were in favour and 14 were not).

Given this result, we will be seeking input regarding possible name changes that still fit with the school and the area. We will keep families informed about how you can contribute your suggestions and be part of the next step in the process.  Note: there are some specific guidelines from the Education Department and local councils that we will need to follow.
