Health & PE

Term 4

This Term has been an extremely exciting and challenging term within the health and PE realm.

In term 4 Mrs Martin secured a sporting schools grant to run a sport for the students of Hackham East. This grant has been used on Taekwando, bringing in a specialist for our upper primary students. The program started in week 6 and will be continuing until week 9.

During the first part of the term the entire school participated in Cup stacking in a variety of ways.

During PE lessons we learnt how to do the 3 -3-3, 3-6-3, the full cycle and relays. Many of our students then went on to compete at the National Championships and now Hackham East has an even longer list of Australian Champions, holding national records. Some of our students will be heading to Singapore early next year to compete in the world Championships and hopefully they will become world record holders!

We, the entire school, also participated in an attempt at breaking a Guinness world record for the most amount of Cup stackers stacking around the world at the same time. This was done during their PE lessons, and here for the very first time I would like to announce that we indeed did beat the previous record and are officially Guinness world record holders!

Lastly, we held our inaugural Hackham East Cup stacking championships on Thursday the 24th of November. The top 5 finalists were able to compete in front of their age groups and through this process we discovered that we had even more champions within our walls.

Well done to everyone who participated and a special mention to our top 3 male and Female competitors.
