Bottlebrush Update
Term Four has been very busy in Bottlebrush!
In Phonics, we have been learning about long vowel sounds and how to recognise them when reading and writing. We have also learnt about using syllables to chunk words into manageable pieces when writing.

In Reading, we have been learning about nonfiction texts. We have explored the features of nonfiction texts and how they support our reading – like contents pages and labels – and we have been learning about the importance of reading the whole word. We have learnt the word endings -ing, -ed and -s and how they change the word.
In Writing, we have been learning to write different types of nonfiction texts. We have written books about ‘Weather Symbols’, brochures about ‘The Wind’, audio books about ‘Clouds’ and posters about ‘Temperature’. In Week 10, we will be creating our own video weather reports.
In Maths, we have been learning about chance and money. During our money unit we have been learning about Australian coins, what they look like and what they are worth. We have been using Seesaw for recording our thinking.
In Week 9 we were lucky enough to receive some OzBot robots from Dr Loz at ‘Art Play Science’. We have been exploring the importance of giving robots clear instructions and how to create a maze for them to follow.
We are looking forward to our last few weeks of 2022 at school!
