Years 2 and 3 String Concert 

The Years 2 and 3 String Concert was held on Tuesday 13 June. Our students happily performed to their audience, demonstrating some of the important aspects of beginner string development.  

The Year 2s opened the Concert and showed their ability to pluck and play the open strings in Willow Waltz and Manhattan Blues. This was followed by the more experienced Year 3s, who, using their left-hand fingers, played three note melodies in Au Clair de la Lune, Finger Twister and Mirror Magic.  

As a finale, the year levels combined as a massed orchestra to perform arrangements of well-known tunes, Hot Cross Buns and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Congratulations to all the students who performed in this wonderful concert, and thank you to the parents and Strings staff for your support of their learning.

Centenary Concert – attention all Kilvonians

Kilvington will be celebrating 100 years this year! To mark this momentous milestone, we will be holding a Centenary Concert at the prestigious Hamer Hall, Southbank on August 10 at 7.30pm. 

We would love you to help celebrate with us, either as an audience member or a participant in the many opportunities available on stage as a performer. Kilvonians are also welcome to participate in any of the present Kilvonian performance groups. 

I'm so looking forward to sharing this evening with all of the Kilvington community.
