From the Chaplain

Over this term, I have been preparing the Christmas Service. The service is on Monday 5 December at 10.15am and is for the whole school from Pre-Primary to Year Ten (Years Eleven and Twelve have finished). Parents and friends are also invited to come along.  As usual, it has come around very quickly, and I am looking forward to seeing all the students participate on the day. Representatives from every year group will be reading something out at the service. We will also hear from the school choir and the orchestra.  The Year One students will be performing a Nativity Play as the Year Six leaders narrate for them. Mrs Poole has made some beautiful costumes for them all to wear.

Thank you, Mrs Poole!

We have our School Captains for 2023, Pierce Newman and Stella Boyce, and Sports Captain Felicity Poole coming to speak and help usher the younger students on and off the stage at the correct time. I also thank them for coming back when the rest of their year has finished for the year.

I have some sneak snapshots attached of what some of the students will be talking about. They are very excited to share this with you.

I would like to wish your family a safe and Happy Christmas and want to leave you with a poem by an unknown author. I hope you can take the time this Christmas to settle and spend some time with Jesus as He wants to be near to us all.

If you look for me at Christmas, you won’t need a special star;

I’m no longer just in Bethlehem, I’m right there where you are.

You may not be aware of Me amid the celebrations.

You’ll have to look beyond the stores and all the decorations.

But if you take a moment from your list of things to do,

and listen to your heart, you’ll find I’m waiting there for you.

You’re the one I want to be with, you’re the reason that I came,

and you’ll find Me in the stillness, as I’m whispering your name.
