Welcome Back!

Great to see everyone in our school community back, safe and happy at the beginning of an exciting school year.  I wish all students and families the best for a fruitful year of learning and growth ahead!

 

Our thoughts are with anyone affected by the recent and ongoing bushfires across Victoria and indeed Australia.  Also, we hope the Coronavirus doesn't negatively affect anyone in our community either.

New Look Newsletters!

I have been re-working and designing the new look newsletters for 2020.  I hope you find them informative and relevant - which has always been the aim.

The new look is a fortnightly approach (alternating topic areas), with all key learning areas of the school having an opportunity to,  share and celebrate student achievement.

NEW Miners Rest Primary School Mobile Phone Policy

  • Mobile phones must be handed to the classroom teacher each day from 8:45am – 3:20pm
  • Mobile phones cannot be accessed by students throughout the duration of the school day
  • Miners Rest Primary School reception will pass on any messages from parents to students in classrooms
  • Any breach of the aforementioned points will result in confiscation of the device overnight and parent contacted; and
  • A second breach will require a parent or guardian pick up the device from the school

Our policy is consistent with the mandatory guidelines from the Department of Education.  Further information can be obtained at:

Howe Street Crossing

What a great time of the year to support and educate all primary aged students on the correct decision making and use of the 'manned' Howe Street crossing.  Mary-Ann is a wonderful & caring supporter of all Miners Rest PS students
