Dance Ensembles

• Congratulations to all students who successfully auditioned for the KHS Dance Groups. A list of students and their respective ensembles has been posted on the PAE noticeboard (on the stairs between canteen and CCS). Dance rehearsals start on Monday 24th Feb as follows :

                    Senior Dance Ensemble : Mondays 7.30am, Hall

                    Dance 1 and Dance 2 : Tuesdays 7.30am, Hall

Percussion

• Percussion ensemble will commence on Monday 24th in CCS at lunchtime. Please register your interest by emailing Sinead.Hatton@det.nsw.edu.au

Advanced Life Ensemble Photos

• Advanced Life will be taking professional group photos of the PAE Ensembles on Friday 28th February. Students are to wear full school uniform. Please read the messages in Student News for details on session times for PAE.

PAE Rehearsal Timetable

Please refer to the PAE page on the Killara website for details on rehearsals days/times. New students are always welcome. Please come along to the next rehearsal and register your name or email Sinead.Hatton@det.nsw.edu.au.

PAE Fees

Invoices for annual fees will be sent out in Week 5 and are due for payment by the end of Term 1.

The PAE Music Intensives will also be included on your invoice. The Intensives are 1 day sessions held at Killara where students have extensive tutoring and rehearsal sessions. It is a core component of the PAE program and all students are expected to attend. If your child is unable to attend on those dates, please email Sinead.Hatton@det.nsw.edu.au

SNPSD Senior Ensemble Workshop Audition 2020

Sydney North Public Schools Dance is pleased to announce an opportunity for talented students from Years 7 - 12 to attend a free Dance Workshop, which will incorporate the audition for the 2020 Sydney North Public Schools Senior Dance Ensemble. 

Date & Time - Sunday 8th March 2020, 3.30 – 6.30pm

Venue - Ballet Academy Northside, 2a/22 Narabang Way, Belrose

The workshop is for talented students and will involve contemporary dance classes taught by artist/choreographer/teachers, Xanthe Geeves* and Gregor Thieler*, SNPS Senior Ensemble Coordinator and co-choreographer, Kim Peade and Tamara Mitchell, co-choreographer and dance teacher from Riverside Girls High School. The entire workshop will act as an audition for the SNPS Senior Dance Ensemble. This group will meet on four or five Sunday afternoons from the end of March to June to prepare a work for the Sydney North Public Schools Dance Festival (Monday 22nd June - Friday 3rd July) and the State Dance Festival (if selected). Students attending the workshop/audition should be genuinely interested in gaining selection for this group. There will be a tuition fee and costume fee associated with membership of the ensemble, for those selected.

There are 50 places available for the workshop/audition. Applications will close on Monday 2nd March. Applicants will be advised by parent email of their acceptance into the workshop/audition by Wednesday 4th March.

*Xanthe Geeves and *Gregor Thieler are the Principals of Ballet Academy Northside and Sydney College of Dance. They have years of experience in performance, choreography and teaching at the elite level, internationally and in Australia. They have also been engaged as tutors for the NSW DoE Arts Unit, for their Secondary and HSC Student programs.

This is a great (no cost) opportunity for students to experience an elite level workshop and possibly gain selection in this special representative group.
