Year 10 Work Experience

Congratulations to all our Year 10 Students for having participated in our Work Experience Program during the last two weeks of Term 2. I have received wonderful feedback from employers, highlighting students’ great teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.

Our students are very fortunate to have been given this wonderful opportunity. Many of our students went to the extra effort of securing two placements – a marvellous effort! Placements varied in their sophistication, location, work environment, programs offered and work type. Students performed many different activities, experiencing the highs and lows of the work force.

Overall, regardless of the work they chose, they were immersed in the real world of work and given the opportunity to develop skills such as team building, resilience, initiative, practical and creative thinking. May this inspire them to think about their future; and may they continue to broaden their knowledge of the different careers available to them and the various pathways students take to get there.

A special thanks to all the employers who participated in our program and supported our students during that period. Thanks also goes to our parents and Year 10 ID Teachers who helped students prepare for their placements. Thank you to all the staff who visited our students whilst they were out on Work Experience.
