Congratulations Quinn Go Sam who entered the 3rd Annual QATSIF Creative Arts Competition.

Quinn’s artistic vision to portray a story through carving and painting a shield, placed him second in his category.

QATSIF is currently working with Griffith University to connect finalist from the competition with other opportunities to further expand their already outstanding talents. Well done Quinn! We look forward to seeing more of your amazing work in the near future.

Art Work Outline

I created this Shield to portray my artistic vision of “In this together”.

The border of people holding hands is this piece’s representation of all the Indigenous Tribes uniting as one and their open arms and stance represents the welcoming of all.

The black circle in the middle represents “The meeting place”; a place for all to come together to reunite and communicate.

The 3 lines joining the people through the middle of this shield illustrates connectedness through time to our ancient culture, and the importance of us all together at present to preserve it.

The small dots on the shield represent the many of indigenous people, past, present, and future.
