A Creative Swap

Year 7: Iris Moul 's interpretation of an artist's thought process.

Creative and Performing Arts

Year 7 students have settled nicely into their new creative classes. Semester One students have swapped from Art into Music or Music into Art.

Art students have started learning about what art can be, the key core concepts and artistic processes. They have started to show their creative abilities, creating drawings and expressing their understanding of how an artistic brain might explore artistic thoughts and processes.

In Music, students have started to look at rhythm as a pattern of regular pulses. They have shown their understanding of rhythm by using cups as a percussion instrument and learning the song ‘When I’m Gone’.  Students are enjoying this hands-on method of learning and the ability to use everyday objects as an instrument to create rhythms.
