Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends,

Greetings everyone! The highlight of the week for me was ensuring that we delivered the necessary resources for the students to continue their remote learning and to retrieve the spoons you have decorated to create our own 'Spoonville' here to welcome our students back, whenever that may be!  My thanks again to the staff that took so much time thinking of what to send home. You may find that your child's pack is not exactly the same as a friend in the same class. Our staff have throughout remote learning endeavoured to differentiate the on-line tasks as well as the 'hard copy' resources being sent home. I always discuss 'point of need' teaching with potential new families who are looking to enrol their child. 'One size does not fit all' and as such the staff strive, within the restrictions caused by this situation, to best meet the academic needs of your child. My thanks also to the staff who went out and delivered these packs. With the Victorian Premier telling all that we are to limit movement it was decided that rather than asking 90+ families to pick up the resources the staff would deliver.

I continue to greatly enjoy  'visiting' the classes on Seesaw and checking in on the students' learning. There is a lot of wonderful work being completed. Well done to the students who received awards this week which I was able to announce on-line on Wednesday.

In some sad news for our students, our older brown hen passed away this week. However in good news the 3 new chickens donated by Flynn (Foundation) and his family have started to lay. I went and took their photo for you but they seemed to be much happier tucking into afternoon tea rather than posing for their photo!!!! I don't think I got their best side!

The building project continues of course. Mrs Trower has added some photos of the work this week later in the newsletter.

This week in the Gospel Jesus asks of Simon Peter ‘Who do you say I am?’ From this we remember Peter becoming the rock, the foundation of the church moving forward and our first Pope! During these challenging times, like Peter before us, we have a special authority to stay positive and adapt to change. Continue to reach out and connect- you may not need it so much but the person you contact might look back on it as the best part of their day.  Be the Christ!

Look after yourselves and let your light shine!

May God Bless you.
