Principals' Message

A message from Molly - Principal for a Day

Dear Parents/Carers,

Today, I had the privilege to become the Principal for a Day. I must admit, this was an admirable experience and I had the most wonderful day. Having a brief meet up with Father Paul, as well as a nice chat with Mr Jason Hanrahan from the Catholic Schools Office. I had a catch up with Mrs Hatton by phone from where she was attending a conference and she asked me to check in on the learning taking place in the classrooms. Working alongside my fellow Principal, Mrs McSweeney, has been an absolute pleasure. I surveyed the classrooms and checked out what our students were learning, seeing if they were engaged, which they were! I was read a wonderful, yet spooky story in Year 5 that sent shivers down my spine, and was thoroughly impressed with Year 4’s commitment to learning, being extremely focused. Then I travelled to the Infants Campus and caught up with our Infant’s learning, as well as the teachers and my little cousins which was a delight! I also had an incredible trip down memory lane while looking around the Infants Campus! Altogether, I had the most amazing experience today and I hope we can allow other students the chance to enjoy becoming Principal for a Day as well! I’d like to thank our amazing Principals, Mrs McSweeney and Mrs Hatton, for giving us students the opportunity to become a Principal like them.

Miss Molly Taylor

Thank you Molly for being such a wonderful choice for Principal for a Day. Molly demonstrated confidence, enthusiasm and gratitude the whole day and we have no doubt  she will be leading her own school in the not so distant future!

NEW PRIMARY CAMPUS KISS AND DROP

Thank you to all the parents and carers who have helped make our new Kiss and Drop such a success. However, with all new procedures there are a few glitches that need to be ironed out.

  • Please be considerate of our neighbours in Wongala and Coorong Streets. Please do not park across their driveways and be mindful of your speed as you drive along these streets.
  • Please enter the Kiss and Drop along Wongala Street and exit along Coorong Street to allow the traffic to flow smoothly.                                                                                       Thank you in anticipation of your support.

The Kiss and Drop finally open! Thank you to everyone involved in the smooth implementation of this new procedure.

Congratulations

We would like to acknowledge and congratulate Miss Emily Lowe on completing her studies and being awarded her Graduate Certificate in Religious Education. Well done Em!

Code of Conduct

We ask that all parents and carers uphold a high level of courtesy and respect toward our staff. It is unacceptable for any of our staff to be spoken to or treated in a way that is rude and intolerable, especially our office staff who do a wonderful but difficult job managing the demands and requests of so many in our school community.

Student Reports

Today we have sent home a hard copy record of our Parent/Teacher/Child Learning Conversations. From all reports, this has been a very beneficial process for our parents and carers and we have received very positive feedback.  We look forward  to working closely with our students, parents and carers in the future to ensure continued success in learning. Thank you to all our wonderful teachers and students for their fantastic preparation prior to our Learning Conversations.

Thank You

Finally, THANK YOU to Angela Trickett and her team for the thoughtful "care" packages delivered to our Infants and Primary Campus for our staff on Tuesday (chocolates, calming face masks and beautiful cards).

You made our day! The COVID-19 pandemic has made this a very "different" term and one that has tested us all in ways we could never have imagined. However,  we could not be more proud of our staff and their dedication to our student's wellbeing and learning during this time, often going above and beyond. To have our parents and carers also value this dedication is testament to a happy and healthy school culture. Thank you.

We wish our staff and students a happy, RESTFUL and safe holiday break.

See you all in Term 3!

Alison Hatton and Lisa McSweeney
