Next Monday, the Year 4 students will be travelling to Grantville Lodge for their 2 night Camp. The children are very excited to be challenged in activities such, as the giant swing, archery, high ropes, low ropes, canoeing, initiatives course and environmental activities.

Mr O'Shea, Mr Hollamby, Mrs Stewart, Miss Olney and Miss Dabley will attend the camp.

Gardening Club

Gardening Club has recommenced! The focus this term is how we maintain and keep a garden healthy. The students have been practising their weeding skills and brainstorming ways to keep pests away from growing plants. Our gardeners will be using a combination of cleaned crushed egg shells and coffee grounds toprovide a healthy snack of nitrogen and calcium for our plants. They will also continue creating scarecrows to keep the birds away.

We would greatly appreciate any old, small sized children's clothing that could clothe our scarecrows.

School Choir

Since the easing of COVID restrictions we are delighted to announce the formation of a Sacred Heart School Choir. The choir will be open to all students regardless of age or musical experience. The choir is being generously led by our Performing Arts Teacher,  Miss Hannah Burridge with support from Mrs Gerecke and Mr Millane.

The choir will rehearse during lunchtime on Wednesdays with the emphasis on building a creative safe space where students can build confidence and friendships. Rehearsals will consist of some basic singing technique, choir skills, as well as starting to learn a small repertoire of songs.

We would love to know if  you or someone in your family has some relevant experience or skills that you would be willing to volunteer to the choir in the future.

Please respond with your interest via Operoo as soon as possible as we are intending to hold the first rehearsal, next Wednesday 18 May.

We look forward to hearing from you and getting a choir back up and running.
