Learning, growing and celebrating together...

It wasn't daunting at all. My very first Ladies Lunch....

Today I had the privilege to speak to a whole room of fabulous ladies, on behalf of the people who love them for being them. I shared a reflection of sorts, attempting to sum up

exactly how special all our ladies are and the profound impact and difference they all make to our lives, just by being them. I outlined to everyone in the room today that:

'To somebody out there you are their everything (there may even be more than one person whose hearts melt when you are near)'

I had a little help with this reflection, from one of my favourite artists (Billy Joel) and one of his least known songs off his first studio album (Cold Spring Harbour) from 1971 - I believe it speaks for itself.

She's got a way about her

She’s got a way about her

She's got a way about her

I don't know what it is

But I know that I can't live without her

She's got a way of pleasin',

I don't know what it is

But there doesn't have to be a reason

Anyway

She's got a smile that heals me, mmh

I don't know why it is

But I have to laugh when she reveals me

She's got a way of talkin',

I don't know what it is

But it lifts me up when we are walkin'

Anywhere

She comes to me when I'm feelin' down

Inspires me without a sound

She touches me and I get turned around

She's got a way of showin',

How I make her feel

And I find the strength to keep on goin'

She's got a light around her, ooh

And everywhere she goes

A million dreams of love surround her

Everywhere

She comes to me when I'm feelin' down

Inspires me without a sound

She touches me and I get turned around

She's got a smile that heals me, mmh

I don't know why it is

But I have to laugh when she reveals me

She's got a way about her,

I don't know what it is

But I know that I can't live without her

Anyway

I explained on behalf of those who could not be in attendance that everyone in this room has an individual way about them.

I thanked all our fabulous ladies...

Thank you for your smiles

Thank you for doing the talking

Thank you for inspiring us

Thank you for bringing us out of our moods

Thank you for being our light

Thank you for all that you are to us

Thank you for all your contributions to our school and community

We cannot live without you!

A special thanks was given to our Year Four Parent Reps, who organised this terrific event.  A great deal of hard work and preparation went into this day, your efforts are greatly appreciated by so many.

On behalf of everyone, I hope that all our ladies enjoyed today and know that the people back at home, the people I spoke on behalf of, the people that love you for you, even though they may not tell you this all the time, they’re thinking it all the same.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind Regards,
