Numeracy

"The essence of Mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple". S Gudder

With our new curriculum planners in Mathematics, our students across the school have been working on addition this term. Hopefully your children have been coming home discussing all the mental strategies they have been working on in class to help them add more fluently.

In the second half of the term, we will be learning about length, location and transformation. We will also be making connections in Number and Algebra by linking our knowledge of addition to our new learning in subtraction.

Mathematics has many opportunities to practise skills at home to support your child's learning. A great way to join in and have fun with maths at home is to play games that incorporate mathematics!

Below is a traditional strategy game that is played all around the world! Nim is a fun maths game that can be played for all ages!
