Journeying Together in Christ

Week 10

The Autumn weather has certainly been lovely and we have noticed a few cooler moments. While we bask in such beautiful weather we keep those in flood ravaged areas in our prayers. We will look at financial support for a school in one of these areas. Our Year 5 Leaders will work with me in making contact with a school in one of the affected areas.

Our Year 6 Leaders and a number of FIRE Carriers were acknowledged in recent times. Congratulations to all the students.

As communicated on PAM I have been in isolation due to being COVID positive. I thank Tony McDonald and the staff for carrying on at school. I can't wait to get back next week. Like many others who have experienced isolation, you hope that you don't get too ill and that your family members escape being positive. I've been living in our back room and caravan this week, so I'm just about over that! On a positive, there are people in the world a lot worse off than me and we continue to pray for them.

Student Camps & Excursions

At this stage our 3/4 Camp to Beechworth is still on as planned. This is Monday 16th May and Tuesday 17th May.

The 5/6 Camp is planned for Tuesday 14th June returning Thursday 16th June. Due to an increase in prices, especially fuel, there will be an unavoidable increase. The Unit Leaders are negotiating with bus companies and will confirm the final cost.

Parent & Teacher meetings

I thank everyone for their efforts. If meetings had to be cancelled due to COVID/Isolation please negotiate a new time with your child's teacher. This may be next week or early in Term Two.

Transition into the new building.

Handover is still on schedule so we can move in on Monday 2nd May. Two closure days were approved by Paul Desmond. Closure days will be Monday 2nd May and Tuesday 3rd May.  At this stage this will be for staff to move in and set up their spaces ready for the children on Wednesday 4th May. We may ask for parents help after this to move other rooms around such as the Library/Learning Centre, and setting up the remaining portable classrooms as specialist spaces. The final landscaping plan will not be completed by the time we move in. We will plan and schedule this so we do this well and get the best for the children.

School Fees

A reminder to finalise any unpaid fees prior to 2022. Thank you for those who have contacted the office or myself and worked out a plan.

Next Community Group Meeting Tuesday 5th April 7:00pm onsite.

We return on Tuesday 26th April. Monday 25th is ANZAC Day and a Public Holiday.

COVID Update

All visitors entering the school grounds must be vaccinated.

Parents will be welcome at our Cross Country on Monday. Weather permitting, our Easter Raffle which is next Friday will be outside and parents will be able to attend.

We pray for all our community who may be at home unwell or isolating. We continue to pray for peace in our world and for those affected by the recent second floods.
