Physical Vibe
It has been a fun filled few weeks in Physical Vibe with so much happening both during weekly lessons and also events.
Gymnastics Program - Junior School
It is safe to say that the last four weeks have proved to be extremely fun for the junior school completing the Gymnastics sessions with Coach Kat from Bayside Gymnastics. They have been working on developing their fundamental movement skills through a range of circuit tasks. The students have worked through progressive stages of forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands and cartwheels. The enthusiasm shown by all students has been a delight to watch.
Thanks to Sporting Schools for funding such a valuable program.
Lightning Premiership Sports - Senior School
On Wednesday 8th June the year 5 and 6 students headed off to compete in their very first inter school Lightning Premiership sports day against schools in our district. It is the first time in 3 years that the competition has been able to run. The A.F.L and Soccer teams braved the cold, wet conditions and returned soaked but with smiles on their faces. The Netball and Newcombe teams enjoyed warmer temperatures indoors and had plenty of laughs.
Thankyou to the parents and friends who came along and cheered the children on. Special thanks to Alisha Alder for assisting with one of the netball teams and Noah East for umpiring at the A.F.L.
Phoenix Soar Wellbeing Program - Year 5 & 6
Over the last four weeks the students have attended a weekly session with educators from South East Melbourne Basketball Team as part of the ‘Phoenix Soar Wellbeing program’. The students have enjoyed completing activities and games based around four key concepts: character strengths, recognising emotions, managing emotions and seeking help.
We would like to thank the South East Melbourne Basketball Team, in particular the two educators Josh and J Mac who facilitated the program. The students found it engaging and walked away with new strategies to use in real life situations.
Regional Cross Country
On Wednesday 15th June Lara (5a) and Finlay (6b) competed in the Southern Metropolitan Regional Cross Country at Hastings Foreshore.
Mrs Halket was there to cheer the girls on in the cold weather.
Lara (15th) and Finlay (63rd) we are so proud of you, what an outstanding achievement.

Environmental Science
Searching high, searching low, we will find bugs where ever we go! Over the last 3 weeks in Nature Play we have been searching and observing worms, snails and millipedes in their natural habitat. We used magnifying glasses to have a very close look and learnt some amazing things! Did you know snails hibernate??
In Year 3/4 we have been investigating seeds and how they grow. We wanted to know if seeds know up from down and are carrying out an investigation to test our hypothesis.
Senior School students are working on a research project about plants or animals in desert environments. The presentations I have seen so far are outstanding.
Keep up the great work CSPS students!
