Year 10 Geography with Ms Vis
On the 28th Feburary, Year 8 Geography embarked on an adventure to Molong Creek to assess the health of our local waterways. Equipped with buckets, bug charts and appropriate shoes, the group recorded their observations and spent time hunting for water bugs which would help to give them an idea of how healthy Molong Creek was. We did a range of tests including checking salinity levels, temperature and turbidity, which students then recorded in their booklets. Time was also spent wading through the creek where yabbies, fingerlings and leaches were found.
Year 8 have spent the last couple of weeks putting together their findings in a PowerPoint, with students learning a lot about how we care for local waterways and how this contributes to the health of our catchments. Thanks to Mrs Quigley, Mr Thorne and Ms Vis for helping put together what was an enjoyable and informative afternoon.
