Learning and Teaching

Learning Space 3 - Juniors

In Learning Space 3 Juniors, we have been looking at how we can use different strategies to stay in the Green Zone. We talked about the strategies Jesus might have used to stay in the Green Zone. He liked to talk to God to help him manage his emotions. We came up with 5 strategies that we could use to manage our emotions too.

During Term 1 the juniors in Learning Space 3 have been participating in Golf Clinics.  They have had lots of fun and have learnt fantastic new skills.  We definitely have potential future golfers in the making!

Students will be required to wear their sports uniform as they will be running, but we hope that they will wear a t-shirt that is in their house colour and wear other accessories such as hats, scarves… in their house colour.

They will also need to bring their drink bottle and hat. Please also remember to update your child’s profile on Operoo acknowledging you have done so on the Cross Country notification.

Teresa House - Blue

MacKillop House – Yellow

Bosco House – Red

Patrick House – Green

We will then have assembly after 1st lunch to announce the winning house and the winners for each race.

A reminder that if parents or family members attend to support your child, you will need to be fully vaccinated and sit in areas away from student groups which will ensure social distancing for our staff and students. You may like to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on.

COLOUR FUN RUN  !!!

We are so excited that Parents and Friends are organizing the Colour Fun Run once again!!!! This will take place after the students finish their cross country run. This was a definite highlight of the day last year. And having been attacked with colour myself, I can assure you it washes out! Please support Parents and Friends in their fundraising effort through the Colour Fun Run.

SCHOOL SPORTS VICTORIA

It’s fantastic that this year the first 5 students in each race from 9/10 year olds, 11 year olds and 12/13 year olds will have the opportunity to proceed to District Cross Country in Term 2. Parents of students who come in 1st – 5th will be notified via Operoo.

SPORTS NEWS

FRIDAY SENIOR SPORTS

This week Grade 5/6 students continued their training for their summer interschool sports and Grade 3/4 continued their sports rotations. We hope that by giving the Grade 3/4 this opportunity, they will be familiar with the interschool sports once they are in Grade 5/6 and choosing the sport they are interested in.

We are delighted to announce that Interschool Sports will begin next week and we will be playing Hampton Park Primary School at home. T-Ball will be played on the oval over at Banjo Paterson due to limited space at school now that the building for the hall has commenced. Grade 5/6 parents have been notified via Operoo with details of all the Interschool Sports matches for this term and next. We ask parents to please give permission for their child to participate and ensure their profile is up to date

GRADE 6 BIKE EDUCATION

Grade 6 students had another pathway session today. We hope that they will practise the skills they have learnt over the week. We will be sending another Operoo note home to extend Grade 6 Bike Education into the first Friday next term. This is to make up for the session that Grade 6s did not have a fortnight ago.

JUNIOR GOLF CLINICS

Juniors once again had golf clinics this week. They have one more clinic in Week 10. We hope the students have enjoyed their golf clinics. I know the coaches have been impressed with our students and their enthusiasm.
