2021 Performing Arts Captains

We congratulate the three students selected to undertake the role of Performing Arts Captain next year.

Sean B has been a valuable member of the Theatre Studies class for a number of years, working primarily in the technical side of performances. He has demonstrated great leadership over the past two years working on most major productions and concerts.

Isabelle D has been a mainstay of every music concert of the past few years and has played leading and featured roles in College Musicals. She has been a part of Music and Theatre classes since beginning at the College in Year 7.

Lewis M has been at Aitken since Prep; his first performance was as a Kelpie in the Fairview Concert and has also featured in numerous musicals, plays and concerts, including leading roles in 'Tartuffe' and 'Monty Python’s Spamalot' last year. He is undertaking Theatre Studies, Media and Music Performance.

All Performing Arts staff and students look forward to working with them next year in promoting events and engagement in the Arts.

Online VET Music Performance Concert

While our Year 12 students have now finished official classes, we wanted to provide the opportunity to share some of the work that VET Music students undertook in preparation for their performance examinations. Students developed a repertoire of songs across the year, all tied together with a theme/setting which they presented to examiners in the Chapel and Performing Arts Centre last week. A selection of their work was filmed to assist with their preparation, and we will be making that available for members of the College community to watch in an online streamed presentation commencing at 7.30pm on Wednesday 25 November. Please join us in celebrating their work at: https://youtu.be/a0Izejd9kS4

Online Fairview Showcase

This week, Fairview students have commenced filming short performances with Ms Thomson, Mr Scandrett, Mr Pedersen and Miss Ufacikligil. Students have worked on items throughout their Performing Arts lessons and are excited to bring you their performances in an online streamed presentation commencing at 6.30pm on Thursday 26 November. Fairview families will receive a link to enjoy these short performances from the comfort of their own home.
