Careers

Year 10 students

During Monday’s Chapel/Assembly, Year 10 students received their Careers packs. Normally these would have been given to students during Life Skills / Careers classes in Term 2, but this has been anything but a ‘normal’ year and lockdown / home learning prevented their distribution. In the packs (which are in bright yellow document wallets) there is a copy of the booklet “2020 Year 10 Life Skills: The Road Ahead & Beyond…”, information about how to use myfuture, WIRL, The Good Universities Guide and VTAC Course Search, Useful Websites, Important subjects for tertiary study in Victoria, the “Where To Now 2021” publication produced by the Victorian State Government for Year 10 students and the listing of prerequisite subjects for 2023 tertiary course selection.

The packs are a valuable resource and it is intended they travel with the student through Brookhill.  Your pack can be referenced at any time but students find the information and resources particularly useful in Year 12 when making big decisions about their pathway post Aitken. Many of the resources in the pack can also be used across a student’s working life – so they are most certainly not just for Year 10. We encourage students to put their pack somewhere they will remember and where they can easily access it. Please drop into B21 or send an email if you have any questions. Also pop into B21 if you were absent on Monday and did not receive your Careers pack.

Year 12 students

Careers staff are hoping all our Year 12 students find the final exams to their liking and that the exam period goes smoothly.  Best of luck to all, may you experience success and have a positive outcome at the conclusion of Year 12. Careers staff continue to be available to answer questions via email or in person in B21.

Year 12 Results will be released to students on Wednesday 30 December.
