Stage 1:

Sports Courts/COMPLETED

Stage 1: Sports Courts Upgrade

Children are now enjoying our newly upgraded sports courts during school time and at after school sports sessions.  The courts will be open for the wider community to enjoy too, as soon as current COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

The courts re-design and upgrade was the first stage of our landscape masterplan and has been a huge milestone project for our school.  The works included:

  • Expanded overall size to allow more space for sports and play activities for children of all ages; extension of existing retaining wall on western boundary
  • New synthetic playing surfaces with line markings for two basketball, two netball, two soccer and two full sized tennis courts
  • New, higher fences along the southern and western sides
  • Improved drainage including stormwater drainage works
  • Two new cantilevered shade structures with bench seats on northern and southern boundaries offering viewing areas and weather protection
  • New screen planting along northern and western boundary fences

The total project value was $300,000 with funding provided by the Victorian Government through Pick My Project with a $188,000 grant, and from Armadale Primary School’s Parents and Friends’ Association (PFA) fundraising initiatives and building fund donations.
