The Beatitudes

Over the weekend we reflected upon those who have become saints and those who endeavour to live a good life.  We celebrated Mass for All Saints' Day (1 November) and will remember All Souls Day (2 November).  In Reflections on the Gospel in this weeks Mass bulletin, Jesus is asking his followers to be the kind of people they would like to be, not just for themselves but for the good of those less fortunate.  It is a theme continued on from World Mission month where we are invited to put ourselves in the shoes of those who are most vulnerable;  that we be the 'light of the hope for the kingdom of God, whose values the Beatitudes enshrine".

Term 4 Staff Twilight Retreat

Last Tuesday, after school, staff gathered together for an afternoon of contemplation in St Brigid's Church.  We welcomed Di Brown from the CSO Renewal Team (and a former St Joseph's student and teacher) who faciliated our retreat. We continued the 2020 theme of Celebrating the Word:

"Listen to me.  If you don't listen, you won't hear.  We are transfigured by listening."
