Heritage and Alumni Group
This year has been difficult for our committee, but we have been working in the background to maintain the things that are important to RSC.
We have managed to hold committee meetings on Zoom so that we can organise the applications and arrange the interviews for the RSC Perpetual Scholarships which enable students to continue their VCE studies in 2021. This fund was established in2015 by some original students of RHS to assist needy students. The names of the 2021 successful candidates will be known in December.
If you wish to assist this worthy cause you can contact the college on 9870 2002 to make donations. Each year there are students who benefit from this fund and we need to keep this fund growing for the students of the future.
We have again prepared a page for this year’s Yearbook to show others what assistance we can offer the Principal and staff at the college during the year. You may recall the work this group did to give the Expo 2019 to the college to assist parents and students in making decisions for their years after leaving RSC.
In the early part of 2020, before the Coronavirus interrupted our work, we had a working bee to select and preserve more of the college history which is now stored in a digital form for the future of RSC. This college needs people who have been associated with RHS or RSC to carry on the work of the current members who have set the wheels in motion for the future. Contact the school for any information about what you can do to help or read the Heritage and Alumni page in the 2020 RSC Yearbook.

Extension: Australian Geography Competition 2020
As an extension activity, Geography students from the Year 8 & 9 ACE classes and Year 11 & 12 classes at Ringwood SC tested their geographical skills and knowledge against students from all around Australia in the 2020 Australian Geography Competition. NB: School photos
School photos are permitted indoors and outdoors. Masks can be removed for the short time that the photo is taken.
Where practical, the student should be facing forward when their mask is off, photos in groups should only be with the students’ class group/cohort and physical distancing should still be applied where practical (such as when queuing for photos etc). Strict physical distancing does not have to be observed between students when the group photo is taken (given students are mixing with this group throughout the day) but this time should be kept to a minimum and physical distancing should be maintained between students and the photographer at all times.
If using chairs to take photos with students seated, these should be wiped down with a disinfectant wipe between uses. Photographers will need to wear masks at all times.
Also recommend photographers be assigned to a specific school (or group of schools) where practical to minimise movement across sites.
Visitors to school grounds must comply with physical distancing and face mask advice set out in this Operations Guide, and practise good hand hygiene.
