Term 4

Mornington Secondary College has been a continuous pulse beating throughout the Arts precinct, as staff and students have worked hard to display student work both virtually and in and around the school. Our annual art exhibition went ahead in a different format than previous years with an exhibition of VCE Year 11 and 12 Art, Studio Art and Visual Communication Design in the Art Gallery.

A special mention must be made of Hugo Rutten who spent numerous hours of his own time in compiling the virtual presentation which can see below:

Year 10 Studio Art - Photography

Still Life Toy Photography

During remote learning, Studio Arts Photography students applied their knowledge of the Art Elements and Principles and composition skills to create a series of narrative still life ‘toy photography’ images. These images, designed to tell a story, showed great creativity under very difficult circumstances.

Self Portrait Mixed Media Collage

On their return to the classroom, Year 10 Studio Arts students immersed themselves in the development of practical skills after a very long period working in digital contexts. Students took photographic portraits, which they then edited, printed, laminated and carved to create stencils. They developed a variety of acrylic painting skills before applying these on canvas board, collaging and finally painting their stencils to create some magnificent mixed media portraits.
