2020 School Payments now open on Compass

Annual Parent Payments: Booklists, Essential Student Learning Items, Optional Items and Voluntary Financial Contributions for 2020 are now available for payment on Compass. If you wish to purchase the 2020 booklist through the school, please ensure payments have been made by Friday 13th December.

Payment Options

It is the school’s preference that all payments are made via the Compass Parent Portal (Course Confirmation & Payments) as you will be able to complete all annual school agreements required at the same time. Compass accepts Visa Debit and Credit cards.

Payment plans are also available if you pay via Compass.

This is the recommended option if you intend to pay for all essential and voluntary contributions, but perhaps cannot do so in a lump sum right now as Compass does not allow you to go back in to process remaining items at a later time.

Manual payments can also be made at the office by cash, credit card or EFTPOS.  If you choose this option you must still access Compass to complete the annual school agreements.

Manual payments will not be accepted over the phone or by writing credit card details on the bottom of the payment slip.

Donations to the Building Fund are tax deductable and a separate tax deductable receipt will be issued.

The State Government now provides a CSEF payment of $125.00 per child to go towards Camps, Swimming, Interschool Sports and Excursions.  To be eligible for this Fund you must be in possession of a Health Care Card which will be valid as at 29th January 2020. If you believe you are eligible for this payment, please come to the office to collect an application form.  Please do not pay any contributions for 2020 until you have completed this form and spoken to our Business Manager, Jan Cassidy.

Please contact the office if you have questions regarding payments or processes.

Lost Property - Busting at the seams!

Year 5 News

On Thursday 5th December the Year Five students ran their market day. This was the culmination of an economics, business, design and technology unit of work. Students worked in groups of six and seven to come up with a product to sell to students from years three to six. They conducted market research, created a business plan, organized a marketing campaign and independently created their product. All students were thoroughly engaged and loved creating and selling their product. All up the students raised approximately $1600 for a charity of their choice.

Thank-you to all who participated. Here is some of the student’s thoughts about the day;

“I felt that the market stalls were a good opportunity for us as students to experience what it is like to work in a shop, to manage our money and figure out our profit.

I believe that all of us loved it and would strongly recommend it for students in years to come.” – Benji B

“My favourite part was selling the product. It taught us how to sell and make enough money.” – Mia T

“I enjoyed the market day stall because it was a good learning experience. We learned about how to make a business plan and the finances of running a business. It was hard but fun, my group was great and we all had fun. I would like to do it again.” – Gus B

“Last week, we all participated in our market day stall activity. I was absolutely cherished and had a prodigious time, having experiences with money and being able to handle it ourselves responsibly. Along with being able to sell the products, we learned about teamwork and business, and sharing our great ideas along our classmates. We were able to accomplish our goals and without our friends support and pleasing ideas we wouldn’t have had such a blessed and jubilant time.” – Angela Z

“I thought it was really fun because we got to learn about making a profit and how much money we should spend and shouldn’t spend. We also had lots of fun making the product; which was toffee apples.” –Bessie

“I really loved the market day stall! It was really fun getting able design and create our own stall ideas. My group was called a Monsieur Banana. I think that we worked well together and all had great ideas to incorporate in our stall. I think learning about business is a very good skill to learn when your younger because you will be more prepared for when your older. My group was very successful and earns a freakishly large amount of money! I’m very proud of our group because we are donating ALL of it to a charity of our choice.” – Talya L

“I enjoyed the market because you were able to enjoy the freedom of making your own choices and we learnt a lot about working as a team. It was definitely a challenge and it was different to anything we’ve done before.” – William N

'Climate Action'  -  by Anastasia 5B

Just once in my life I want to experience something like a hidden place. I want to explore a whole new world but not in the case that I would want to go to a different planet. More like wanting to change something like Greta Thornburg and the way she wants to change the way we disrespect our planet because of our environmental problem. I’m almost certain that we can make a big difference in our school to encourage our community to respect the environment.

I read an article on how one plastic container got ran over by a car and the car’s wheel popped and the car got into a car crash which created more waste. The car ended up in the ocean where fish swim.

We need to help out with charities like Four Ocean so we can help put a stop to all of this madness. It doesn’t just disrespect me it disrespects all of us who know what has been going on and it is disgusting that our politicians are ignoring people and putting them in danger. They are putting people's lives at risk and people are already dying. These deaths are a sign that we all need to start taking action now. The government should start putting in rules that all new houses should have solar panels. And instead of talking about it, let’s start making changes to save the Earth.
