0ne-two-rful 1/2s

Term 2 Week 6 2022 - Friday 3rd June

What have we been up to?

And just like that, we’re over the half way mark. Well done to our 1/2 students on another fabulous fortnight. They have all worked so hard completing a variety of Reading, Writing and Mathematics assessments and it has been wonderful to see the progress they have made. Rehearsals for their class movies are well under way and it has been fantastic to see the students get better and better each time! Remember to keep practising those lines at home too! They also learnt about Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week. They had some raw and honest conversations about the Stolen Generation and discussed and acknowledged the importance of ‘The Apology’ and why Reconciliation Week is so important for all Australians.

Here are some photo highlights from the fortnight that was!

What’s coming up?

Reading

In Reading, over the next two weeks students will be revisiting how to retell a story after reading. They will focus on the sequence of events, and what important details they need to include when retelling a story after reading.

Writing

Over the next two weeks in writing, students will revisit persuasive and recount texts. They will use this time to consolidate their knowledge and have another go at writing these text types. Using correct structure and the knowledge they have gained about writing this semester.

Maths

In Maths, the students will look at number patterns through ‘Grandma’s Soup’ they will also. They will also go back to time and revisit how to tell the time on both digital and analogue clocks.

Inquiry & Science

In Inquiry, students will continue exploring differences and similarities between the past and the present. In Science students will investigate changes in the landscape. They will learn to identify changes that happen because of nature and those that occur because of humans.
