STEM - It Takes A Spark

It Takes a Spark Conference - STEM
On Wednesday, the 4th of May, thirty students from both Year 7 and 8 attended the It Takes a Spark STEM Conference at Thomas Carr College. It was a chance for us to share our Simple Machines Littlebits projects with students and teachers from all over Victoria.
The ‘It takes a spark conference’ was a great chance to improve learning towards science and listen to a variety of inspirational guest speakers, such as Dr Madeline Mitchell who spoke about sustainable farming practices and encouraging women to participate in science. The activities there were very fun and educational. It was also a great opportunity to meet people from different schools and see what they are doing at their school. We learnt that Science can be used in multiple careers that can help all people in our community. Overall, it was a great educational experience. The program was extremely well organised, which made our time there most memorable. We would love to attend the ‘It takes a Spark Conference’ in the future.
We also like to thank Ms Sarah Trang and Ms Stephanie Jupp for assisting us on the day and helping us to get our Littlebits STEM projects ready for the conference in term 1.
